New Delhi: A meeting of Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of all States will be held here on Friday to discuss the need to respond to deliberate and planned incidents and develop a strategy in this regard.
The meeting is expected to carry forward the ongoing consultation process in respect of internal security issues between the Central and State Governments. It is expected to exchange ideas on preventive and precautionary measures to address potential threats to internal and national security arising from such incidents, including awareness building, community cooperation and participation, coordination in and strengthening of intelligence, urban and metro policing systems and process of investigation and prosecution besides other relevant issues.
Some deliberate and planned incidents have occurred recently in different parts of the country, leading to loss of life and a sense of panic among the people.
